It's Over
I'm twenty five years old and I just finished my first full-time semester at school. There's nothing like waiting until you're married, work full time, ready to start a family (this doesn't mean that we are, so don't get any ideas all you crazy people out there that want us to have kids), in a band, recording your second album, looking for a house, and oh, did I mention married, to go back and start school. Okay, I lied. I only work part time now that I'm in school. Anyway, what a crazy semester. On top of all of that, my wife is getting her masters, so you can imagine what our time spent at home is like. That's right, we enjoy romantic evenings gazing into our textbooks, occasionally waving to one another from across the room to acknowledge each others existence. My entire semester was spent trying to answer one simple question...why do I do this to myself? No, I'm just kidding. I actually enjoyed my semester and learned a lot (such as how to use the phrase a lot. It's not alot, but two words: a lot. Seriously, that was on my English exam this morning. Didn't we learn that in elementary school. If you didn't know that, don't sweat it. I think people make that mistake often, so don't be too hard on yourself). Being is school has done something that I didn't expect. It's given me a sense of confidence that I haven't had in a while. Not a cocky confidence, but I've realized that I do have the ability to do things. Sorry, I didn't mean to get sappy on you. What did I do when I got home from my last exam? i signed up for classes for next year. I'm excited to take the summer off, but I'm looking forward to going back and learning some more (esp. philosophy). What!?! I can't believe I'm saying this! What happened to me? One last thing. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to my wife, who I adore. The only reason I'm able to go back to school is because she works full time to support me (just so you know, I'm not a bad husband. She suggested it). It's a gift that I am truly grateful for. Thanks Love! You're the best!
