apples & pumpkins

the other day, our small group went out for some fall fun. we went apple picking and pumpkin "stealing." first we went to highland orchards for some apples. unfortunately we did not have our camera so no pictures but we had fun picking apples from the very top of the tree because why would anyone pick from the bottom of the tree if you could climb a tree instead. after that we went to get some pumpkins. a long time ago (when greg and i were dating) we went to a pumpkin farm where it was all you can carry for $10. we had so much fun, we thought our friends would enjoy it too. well, over the years, inflation has set in and so now it is all you carry for $15 if you load yourself and $20 if you have others load you. the salesman was very scared of us and our burly men and continually tried to convince us to load more then one person. but we are cheap (and strong) so we loaded up kevin. he had to walk ten feet but that was nothing for our strong man!! we called it stealing because kevin carried seven pumpkins and about 50 gourds all for $20. can't beat that. we drew quite a crowd but quickly loaded the car and sped out of there before they told us we had to pay more money.

what a great fall day. well, the weather wasn't really fall. although it was october, it still was 85 degrees out. we thought about bundling up and wearing sweaters to trick ourselves into thinking it was fall but opted out of it once we stepped outside. we had a great day! thanks friends!!
