Music, Monuments, Metro, and the Most Comfortable Beds

Carla and I spent the week between Christmas and New Years in D.C. with the bridge band and 1000 of our closest friends (you didn't know we had that many?) at Radiate 2007, campus crusade's yearly Christmas conference. The band was there to lead worship for the event. What a great week! Not only did we get to play music nearly every morning and night, but the rest of the time was ours to do with what we wanted.

The metro ran right under out hotel, so getting around was easy. We got to go downtown and walk around the city (we got caught in the rain one day, but not to worry, we found shelter at Abe's monument), relax and take naps in the most amazing beds (when I first heard about the beds, I was a little skeptical, but OH MY GOSH!), hang out with friends and family (my brother was there doing film stuff, and my parents and Auntie Anne and Uncle Jonas came down for a night because Auntie Anne was speaking, we got to go out with them to an amazing steak house...sorry pete), eat lunch at potbellies (if you haven't, you must) and whatever else we felt like doing.

We met some new people, and got to play some of our music off the new album. Getting away for a week is great!
