About three and half years ago, a month before Carla and I got married, I went to the dentist for my usual check up. He mentioned that I have a wisdom tooth that came in sideways which has a cavity in it, and if it isn't pulled, the cavity may hit the nerve line and cause some serious pain. He recommended that I have it pulled before Carla and I get married, so that the cavity doesn't hit the nerve line while we are on our honeymoon. I didn't take his advice nor the advice of the dentists that I've seen since then who said the same thing.
Alas, I am unhappy to announce that all the dentists that I ignored are now able to point their fingers at me, laugh, and say, "I told you so!" This past Friday, the cavity hit the nerve line...and yes...it hurts! Fortunately, my current dentist was nice enough to prescribe some antibiotics and pain killers to ease my current state of suffering, and I just met with the oral surgeon who promises that in two weeks he'll be able to take the pain away for good.
So now I'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth pulled, something I should have done three and half years ago. You should always listen to your dentist.
P.S. I was going to post a picture of my x-ray so you could actually see the tooth, which my dentist gave me, but the oral surgeon kept it.
