Plumbing Woes

We had a clogged drain
A small one it seemed
Until we found out
The whole sewer line needed cleaned

No water could we use
To the bathroom we couldn't go
Because if we did
Things would start to overflow

We made a quick call
"Please help us if you can"
And who came to our rescue
None other than the roto-rooter man

His name was Alex
A cool guy that's true
We talked about music
And about our new houses too

And all the while
He cleaned out the line
But because our house is old
The cast iron pipes were not fine

They cracked and leaked
And needed to be repaired
So Alex got some PVC
And fixed them with great care

When all was said and done
The water we could use
The toilets we could flush
Everything was like new

What's the moral of the story
What did we learn when all was done
When you buy an old house
Be prepared for what may come
