If Only

Have you ever had one of those moments where you think, "If only I had done this or that, I'd now be here or there?"

I had one of those moments this morning.

I was walking around campus heading to class, and I thought, "If only I had gone to college immediately following high school. By now I would be finished my undergrad, my masters, even my doctorate, and instead of walking around campus on my way to sit in a class, I could be walking around campus on my way to teach a class."

Yeah, if only...

Just to be clear, though, I am in now way complaining. I've had the opportunity to do some truly amazing things because I didn't go to college right after high school and I'm a better person because of it.

But maybe someday...
